Congratulations to Brittany who just wrapped her role as Carly Phillips in the NBC pilot Community Service. Always in demand , Brittnay still managed to find time to shoot this pilot, even though her schedule was tight, as she was already hired to play Kimberly in Neal Brennan’s teen spoof film, Totally Awesome and booked to fly to Canada where busy Brittany was shooting the new Wayans brothers movie, Little Man. While she waits to hear the good news from NBC about Community Service getting picked-up (Fingers crossed!) I hope she slows down to count her blessings. Nobody deserves it more that this funny, smart, angel of an actress, Brittany Daniel.
Brittany’s character, Carly, is the love interest of Will Shepard, played by comic, Jay Mohr. The show begins with Will Shepard, a prominent New York City real estate agent, losing it all, his job, his money, and his pride. So, he decides to go to the small Ohio town where he can find Brittany’s character], the only woman he has ever loved. Unfortunately, she’s engaged to be married. To make matters worse, Will gets into an altercation with a local police officer who just happens to be Carly’s fiance. Will is sentenced to 500 hours of community service in this town.
Like the Wayans brothers’ feature White Chicks that featured Brittany as Megan Vandergeld, Little Man is another chance for Brittany to stretch her comedy legs. Shawn Wayans plays a wannabe dad who mistakes a vertically challenged criminal on the run (Marlon Wayans) as his newly adopted son.
Totally Awesome is a spoof of typical 1980's teen movies. The idea is that VH1 found a "long-lost", never-released teen film made in the 1980's and decided to air it now in 2006; thus it is loaded with the typical formula, clichés, bad fashions, and stereotypical characters found in those movies and makes fun of them.
If you loved Brittany in Joe Dirt they way I did, you are going to adore her in the three comedies of 2006...and counting!
