Okay, so I am behind, but better late than never. CONGRATULATIONS to the beautiful, talented, China Chow for being added to the wonderful cast of the acclaimed drama, Burn Notice, now beginning its 2nd season on USA. China began working on the show in 2007 as the recurring character, Minh, who is one of the few friends left of “burned” spy Michael Westen played by Jeffery Donovan (Crossing Jordon, Hitch.) Adding China as a regular member of the cast is an acknowledgement of the added value she brings to the show, with her natural comic timing and compelling dramatic realism. This contract for China is much deserved and I couldn’t be more thrilled! (I am also excited that she will be working with my client Tricia Helfer, at least for a while, as Tricia is now recurring for an undisclosed number of episodes.)
China, of course, was first “discovered” in the comedy The Big Hit where she played the impish teenage daughter of a super-rich businessman who was kid-napped and held for ransom by Mark Wahlberg’s character.
China has been growing as an actress and expanding her horizons as a person ever since. I especially enjoyed coaching her on the feature film auditions for Head Over Heels and Spun because of her uncanny ability to stay connected and real but never take herself too seriously. I love China’s lightness. She is quirky and spunky, with a magnetic dark side that pulls you in rather than pushing you away. China, my dear, I wish you many seasons with this terrific show! You are a sweet girl and stand out actress!
