Class Policies
PAYMENT
Payment for the 1-day ReActing by Heart workshop and 3-day Auditioning by Heart intensive is due in full 30 days prior to the start of class or at the time of registration if registering less than 30 days in advance.
HOMEWORK
For the 6-week Auditioning by Heart masterclass, homework must be completed and turned in by each Wednesday before the next class.
For the 3-day Auditioning by Heart Intensive workshop, homework may be turned-in complete or incomplete before 11:30pm each night. Crystal will respond over-night prior to midnight.
LATE ARRIVALS / ABSENCES
It is expected for students to be on time to class. If you will be running late or missing class for any reason, please let Crystal's TA (teacher's assistant) know as soon as possible by phone / text.
Make-ups
For the six-week Auditioning by Heart Masterclass, Crystal offers a Virtual Make-up for actors who need to a miss class. The Virtual Make-up is simple and allows you to get your money’s worth by having a chance to work with Crystal despite having missed class.
(This policy is for the 6-week masterclass only, and does not apply to the 3-day Auditioning by Heart intensive. One Virtual Make-up is allowed per 6-week session and students will have two weeks after a missed class to advantage it.)
Here are the steps:
On the week of your absence, put yourself on-tape using the material provided for that week. You can do this with your own set-up at your convenience, or by contacting the TA to either tape with him/her or get the name(s) of other classmates who need to make-up and taping with them.
Email your tape to the TA within two weeks of your absence.
Review a private link to a recording of your missed class and see Crystal's notes on breaking down the scene. This link will be uploaded and sent to you no later than the following Wednesday after each class.
Schedule a time with Crystal to review your recorded scene. This can be done via phone, Skype / Facetime, or in-person with Crystal.
Auditing
We allow students to audit classes of the regular 6-week workshops. (Regretfully, we can’t take auditors for Auditioning by Heart 3-day intensive or for ReActing by Heart.)
There are both free and paid options available, including:
You may choose to watch or be the "reader" for the six-week Auditioning by Heart Masterclass as a one-time free audit.
Should there be space in the class, the auditor is welcome to choose to participate. They may put up work in class, have that work played back and critiqued by Crystal or by a TA.
For Crystal’s critique during class, there will be a one-time $65 participation fee per each day that you attend. $40 if critiqued by a TA.
Note: Crystal can only critique 12 people during that day's class. Each TA can also only critique 12 participating actors.
Already know that you want to work, but you’re looking for a more economical choice? You may choose to register as a Silver Level Auditioning by Heart for all six days of the six-week Auditioning by Heart Masterclass, or in the 3-day intensive Auditioning by Heart workshop, for only $200.

Cancellation Policies
For the 1-day ReActing by Heart workshop:
Please understand that ReActing by Heart is a special class that requires a lot of prep work for your benefit. This includes putting together sides and extensive character breakdowns that are unique to each actor, as well as pairing actors appropriately. Each student’s commitment effects Crystal’s time & energy, and ability to travel to teach, and because you have a partner who is given materials dependent upon you, your canceling effects the entire class. While we have done our best to provide you with wonderful compensation, our policy must reflect the hardships caused by anyone cancelling this particular class.
If you need to cancel…
Two weeks (or more) prior to the ReActing by Heart class’s start date:
We will happily refund 90% of your tuition if you fill your seat with another student, or…
You can put 90% of the tuition towards a future Silver Level Auditioning by Heart workshop (3-day Intensive or 6 week regular) for up to 1 year, or…
You can put only 25% of the tuition towards another future ReActing by Heart 1-day class (for up to 1 year) because of the prep we’ll need to do for you once again, or…
We will happily refund 25% of your tuition if we fill your seat, and you choose not to apply anything toward a future class.
Between one and two weeks prior the class’s start date:
You can put 75% of the tuition towards a future Silver Level Auditioning by Heart workshop for up to 1 year.
You can put only 25% of the tuition towards another future ReActing by Heart 1-day class (for up to 1 year) because of the prep we’ll need to do for you once again, or…
We will happily refund 10% of your tuition if we fill your seat with someone on the waitlist, and you choose not to apply anything toward a future class.
We will happily refund 25% of your tuition you choose not to apply anything toward a future class, and if we have no longer have anyone on the wait-list, and you fill your seat with another student.
Between one week and two days prior to the class’s start date:
You can put 50% of the tuition towards a future ReActing by Heart workshop for up to 1 year.
Two days (or less) prior to the class’s start date:
You forfeit your payment.
For the 3-day Auditioning by Heart intensive/ Weekly Bootcamp:
Two weeks (or more) prior to the class’s start date:
We will happily refund 100% of your tuition if you fill your seat with another student, or…
You get 90% of your money back if we fill your seat with another student.
Between one and two weeks prior to the class’s start date:
We will happily refund 100% of your tuition if you fill your seat with another student, or…
You get 75% of your money back if we fill your seat with another student.
One week (or less) prior to the class’s start date:
We will happily refund 90% of your tuition if you fill your seat with another student, or…
You get 50% of your money back if we fill your seat with another student.
If for any reason, we cannot fill your seat, you get 25% of your money back. (There is usually a waiting list and it isn’t an issue).
After class has begun, you forfeit your payment.
*Note: Money refunded must be requested within 60 days of receiving payment.
FOR ONLINE VIRTUAL MASTERCLASS PROMOTION after you’ve dropped the class
If you’ve already received Online Virtual Masterclasses as a promotion for registering for both ReActing by Heart and Auditioning by Heart at the same time, and now you want to drop, those are yours to keep and enjoy at 50% off the regular price of $50 per virtual class. So, $25 per class will be subtracted from any refund you may receive.
For the $100 Seminar Special workshop:

You forfeit your tuition
After class has begun, you forfeit your payment.
