Alex Collins played Francis in season two of Underground and also appeared in TURN: Washington's Spies. He's been a member of SAG-AFTRA for over 14 years and works as an acting teacher and coach when he is not on set. He also is active on social media, and shares his advice on many online film forums. His words of wisdom include: A rising tide lifts all boats: The more educated our actor population, both in terms of training and in terms of business savvy, the more seriously each person in our industry is being taken by decision makers.
It's a marathon, not a sprint: If you truly want to pursue a career in this industry, then buckle up and get ready for a long ride. There is no such thing as an overnight success.
Train, train, train: Every acting mentor I have, every friend of mine that is a series regular or truly successful in this business is constantly training.
Get comfortable being uncomfortable: …actors will hear 99 no's for every 1 yes, and that's okay, just get comfortable with that. Find a life outside of acting, whether that's friends and family, whether that's a sport or hobby, or it may even be the 'day job' that allows you the flexibility to audition and work as an actor.
Be an ambassador: Divas and difficult people get a reputation quickly.
Charles Green received his BA, MA and MFA from McNeese State University, University of Tennessee and University of New Orleans (UNO), respectively. He was a member of UNO's Acting Company, and was nominated for an Irene Ryan Award for his role as Tom in Glass Menagerie. After graduating from UNO in 1979, he moved to Hollywood where he worked on camera and in local Equity-Waiver theatres. In 1990, he "retired" from TV/film acting to concentrate on his award-winning healthcare public relations career. In 1999, he moved to Atlanta, Georgia where he performed in local Equity theatre productions and created national public health campaigns for The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC). In 2013, he restarted his TV/film career when cast in a one-on-one scene opposite Anthony Hopkins in the film Kidnapping Mr. Heineken.
David Pileggi Since starting his acting career in 2008 as an improvisor, and stand up comedian, Dave has over 210 bookings in film, tv, commercial, and industrial work in just over 11 years. As a writer and director, Dave has over 200 corporate, social media, and commercial videos under his belt.
Dave’s 20 years of teaching experience, public speaking and business knowledge combined with his over 10 successful years in the entertainment industry has allowed him to help hundreds of actors and entrepreneurs grow their careers through his classes, workshops and one-on-one coaching.
