Throwback Thursday
Everyone is McQ. Childer is McQ’s ex.
Storyline: McQ was a big fish in junior high basketball, only to be a little fish off the court when that failed.
Turns out that McQ's father forged McQ’s birth certificate, revealing that this "12-year-old" phemom was actually fifteen! The family had to move and McQ became obsessed with becoming successful at something, anything…particularly in the field of basketball.
Many years later, here we are with McQ at rock bottom. Between a failed marriage, a turbulent rapport with Gigi and a questionable relationship with the truth, McQ's potential is squandered.
When the sports memorabilia store McQ owns nears bankruptcy, there is nowhere to turn to for help…accept to junior high buddy, now famous baller, old pal Stephen Curry. One night, McQ "accidentally" bumps into Stephen and they reconnect. He steals Steph's game-worn jersey to sell for quick cash but gets caught red-handed. Panicked, McQ makes up a lie, putting everyone involved at the center of yet another, potentially explosive scandal.
NOTE: Daughter Gigi isn’t cast at this time, we are looking for the lead adults first.
(Note to the younger actors…if we go in your direction, then Gigi will be played by a dog, that you and your ex-boyfriend, Childer, now share like a child of divorce. Dog handle will be on set at all times. Please let your agent know if you have a fear of dogs.)
Thank-you, casting
Consideration: Throwback Thursday is a sports- and friendship-focused comedy that centers around adult themes, such as frequent lying and defrauding others to get what they want. Expect a lot of mature humor, references to addiction (alcohol, narcotics, gambling, and pornography), and dysfunctional family dynamics. Jokes about depression, SSRIs, and other sensitive topics are prevalent. There's regular sexual humor and strong profanity, including "motherf--king," "a--hole," "s--t," and "bitch." Please let us know if you would rather not audition.
